Las Coruxinas Vacation Home Asturias

Las Curuxinas (the little owls, in Asturian bable) is the name of our country house nestled at the foot of mountain range El Cuera, a few kilometres from the beaches and port of Llanes. 

The house itself is part of a farm dating from 1870. Since then, the property has been divided and Las Curuxinas is a small end of terrace house with an extensive garden. Although quite ancient and alluring, the house has been remodelled to modern standards and offers all the amenities and comfort for a restful stay. The surroundings couldn’t be greener, the nights not any calmer if you don’t count the hooting of owls or the soft clanging of cowbells. Alongside the house is a path that leads straight into the forest and up into the mountains, perfect for hikers and wanderers.

The house consists of an open kitchen, living and dining area on the ground floor, as well as a bathroom. The backdoor opens to a terrace, a perfect spot for meals on sunny days.
Upstairs you’ll find a bedroom with a double bed, a complete bathroom with a tub/shower and a lounge with a stunning view of the mountains and a h­órreo, a traditional Asturian grain shed. The lounge is a lovely place to hang out and also serves as a second bedroom with a comfortable double sofa bed. The garden is there to enjoy, with a picnic table and plenty of space, sun or shade, depending on the weather, of course.

The kitchen is well equipped and suitable for some serious cooking. The bedding is of the best quality, chosen for the highest comfort. The house is decorated in a personal and unique way by your host Carin Steen, an artist who lives and works in the h­órreo behind the house.
